The beginning is the most important part of the work.

Welcome to my new blog! Quoting Plato for the title of this post is probably a wrong move, as it creates expectations. Please allow me to temper them now… I am not on the level of Plato, even on my best day. I apologize for crushing your hopes!

So, here we are the beginning. So many directions to take with this project and I choose them all! An Amalgamation will be an amalgamation (wink!) of my thoughts, my writing, my rambles about various forms of media and random things I want to shout out into the void.

I invite you to leave comments and questions and to also subscribe to my update emails (you choose how often you want to receive them). I look forward to sharing things with both you, the reader, and also, the crickets!

Oh, and a quick warning to all grammaristas – I do often use parentheses and ellipses, but not Oxford commas. As Joan Didion, another author with whom I am not nearly on the same level, said…

“Grammar is a piano I play by ear.”

I wish you all a good night/morning/afternoon and hope to see you again!
